Prémio Nobel

Sabia que os nossos domes são formalmente apelidados de cúpulas ou domes geodésicos. Foram inventadas pelo arquitecto Buckminster Fuller e patenteadas em 1954.

Trata-se de uma bola quase esférica formada por triângulos que lhe atribuem uma enorme rigidez ao longo de toda a estrutura e é incrivelmente leve dada a sua dimensão e volume. Em 1985 um grupo de químicos (Robert Curl, Harold Kroto e Richard Smalley) descobriu que os átomos de carbono possuem uma forma similar à das estruturas geodésicas. Estes laureados pelo prémio Nobel decidiram então homenagear o arquitecto Fuller dando o seu nome à descoberta.

Did you know that our domes are formally nicknamed cupolas or domes geodetic instruments. Were invented by the architect Buckminster Fuller and patented in 1954.

It is a spherical ball almost formed by triangles that you attach a huge rigidity throughout the structure, and is incredibly light given its size and volume. In 1985 a chemical group (Robert Curl, Harold Kroto and Richard Smalley) discovered that the carbon atoms have a shape similar to that of GEODESIC structures. These Nobel Prize laureates then decided to honor the architect Fuller giving its name to the discovery.

Lo sapevate che il nostro cupole sono formalmente soprannominati cupole o cupole strumenti geodetici. Sono stati inventati dall’architetto Buckminster Fuller e brevettato nel 1954.

È una palla sferica quasi formata da triangoli che si allega una rigidità enorme in tutta la struttura ed è incredibilmente leggera date le sue dimensioni e volume. In 1985 un gruppo chimico (Robert Curl, Harold Kroto e Richard Smalley) ha scoperto che gli atomi di carbonio hanno una forma simile a quella delle strutture geodetiche. Questi vincitori del premio Nobel, quindi, ha deciso di onorare l’architetto Fuller, dando il suo nome alla scoperta.

Wist u dat onze koepels formeel bijgenaamd koepels of koepels zijn geodetische instrumenten. Werden uitgevonden door de architect Richard Buckminster Fuller en gepatenteerde in 1954.

Het is een bolvormige bal bijna gevormd door de driehoeken dat u een enorme rigiditeit in de structuur koppelt, en is ongelooflijk licht gezien haar omvang en volume. In 1985 een chemische groep (Robert Curl, Harold Kroto en Richard Smalley) ontdekt dat de koolstofatomen een vorm vergelijkbaar met die van GEODETISCHE structuren hebben. Deze Nobelprijswinnaars dan besloten ter ere van de architect Fuller geeft zijn naam aan de ontdekking.
